The Hon. John T. Ellis, of Anderson, who went to England six weeks ago as representative of the Whittaker heirs, has returned. Mr. Ellis represents the McHugh branch of the Whittaker heirs, of Illinois, the Medley, of Minnesota, the Keisers, of Hamilton County, and the Boones and Whittakers, all of whom are heirs of old John Whittaker, of England. Mr. Ellis ascertained that there is yet $200,000 held in trust by the Bank of England for the American branch of the Whittaker family. The object of Mr. Ellis’ trip was to employ counsel in England and inform himself of the character of proof required to establish heirship. The money is there awaiting the heirs. -s
